According to wikipedia.com, micromanagement has a negative connotation, likewise it is considered as a curse word in the business language.

Most people surf the web searching for solutions on how to deal with micro-managers, but we rarely find the latter searching on how to solve their problem.

What is micromanagement?

Micromanagers usually devote their time on supervising small tasks and assessing every step avoiding delegation of responsibilities and decision taking. They miss giving general instructions on details in order to have their time supervising larger concerns. What irritates most the micromanagers is when a subordinate takes decision even if he/she has the full authority to do so.

So instead of micromanaging, how do you think you can drive employee engagement and build a good relationship with your salespeople?
